Why we exist
Havor is for the builders who ship into the void, and deserve a harbor.
A harbor. Not a hype machine.
A ship earns its place here across the whole voyage, from its first rough idea to long after it goes live. Nothing here rewards noise.
Post the itch before the first commit. It goes in the Yard, with the other early ideas.
Ship it half-built. Your first backers follow the build.
Open the doors. Real feedback before the launch.
Launched. The voyage keeps going from here.
Most boards only light up that last dot. Here the whole line counts: every stage is a real place to be seen.
What Havor costs
Free to be here.
Everything Havor is today is free, and it stays that way.
Free, always
All of it: your ships, your crew, your messages, your whole record. Even the developer tools — ship an update straight from a commit, real commit activity on your ship's page. No card, no trial clock.
Optional, later
In time there will be paid tools: more depth for builders on their own ships, and a wider view for the people watching the harbor. They make the free harbor better, never smaller.
The board can't be bought
Paid tools will never touch ranking, placement, or score. A paid account and a free one rise the exact same way: real builders backing real work.
Position in the harbor is earned.
Where the name comes from
Havor
The name is two Old Norse words.
- haf
- The open sea.
- vör
- The landing. The stonework where boats get hauled up on shore. Not a port. Just the worn spot where people pull in.
That's the whole loop. You build out on the water, mostly alone. You come back in, show what you made, and go out again.
Everything here follows from the landing being small. A small landing means people actually look. One real comment from someone who read your work is worth more than a hundred people scrolling past. So that's what we weight.
Vör is also a minor Norse goddess: the careful one, “from whom nothing can be concealed.” We didn't plan that. It fits how we weigh reviews here, so we kept it.
Pronounced HAY-vor, the same way haven went from hafn to HAY-ven.
Questions, answered.
Anything you built. Apps, tools, APIs, agents, that scrappy 2am side project. Most of the harbor is AI-built and those are the builders we're here for, but AI is never a requirement. Idea, beta, or bringing in revenue, doesn't matter. If it's real, dock it!
No. Fresh ships surface in the feed before anyone knows your name. You don't bring an audience to Havor — you earn one here, one backed ship at a time.
Builders back the work they rate, and that backing is what lifts a product up the board. Ranking never looks at follower counts or ad budgets. It's builders putting their name behind real work.
Our trust mark for real work. A docked product earns it with a working link, a real description and a screenshot, plus one of two things: proof it's yours (link its repo from your own GitHub, or ask us to check your domain), or genuine responses from builders who aren't credited on it. It records that the work is real, not that it's finished.
Pull into the harbor.
Launch your work, find your crew, and give it a place to be seen.
