A note from the crew

What's new since 001.

September 19. That's the day the doors open to everyone — no invite, no waitlist. Until then, here's everything we've built since 001: community rooms, events, points, and a bunch of smaller stuff too.

It's been a few weeks since 001, and we've been busy. A handful of things to walk through — biggest one first.

Shipping is lonely. You work for months, post the thing, a few people say nice work, and then you're back at your desk on Monday with nobody to talk to about the part that's actually hard.

A feed doesn't fix that. You can scroll a hundred launches and still not know anyone. What helps is a smaller room with the same faces in it, where you recognise who's who and somebody notices you've gone quiet.

Builders can run community rooms on Havor now — small, with a name and a roster, belonging to whoever runs them.

From the helm

The short version

Everything since 001, before we go deep on any one thing.

  • Community rooms

Open, ask-first, or invite-only to join. What's inside can be public or members-only.

  • Invitations

Bring someone into a private room without opening the door to everyone.

  • Events

Online or in a real city. Attach one to a room, or put it on the public board.

  • A calendar you already use

Subscribe and events land in Apple, Google or Outlook. Nothing to remember.

  • Points

Earned by taking part. They lift a ship, an event, a room or a thread — never bought with money.

  • A page that shows the working

Every point you have, where it came from, and what it can reach. At /points.

  • The harbor's bigger

8 builders and 4 ships the day 001 went out. 24 builders and 23 ships now.

  • Paste a link, fields draft themselves

Paste your product's URL on step 2 of Submit and the blanks fill in, quoted from your own page. Marked until you check it.

  • Every ship gets its own timeline

Idea, building, beta, launched — each stage now carries the date it happened.

  • The board tucks itself away

A builder's board opens collapsed now, and expands on a tap.

What a community room is

A place with a door on it

A community room has a name, a picture, the people in it, and its own conversations. You can see who's there before you join.

The person who runs it decides two things: how you get in — open, ask-first, or invite-only — and whether what's inside is public or just for members. A private room still shows up in the directory; what's private is what's posted inside it.

Events

The bit that usually gets forgotten

The first one is already up: the day the doors open to everyone, on the calendar like any other event. When it lands, if you're subscribed, it finds you — no need to keep the date in your head.

An event here can be a call, a co-working hour, or something in an actual room in an actual city. It has a time, a place, and the people hosting it.

Every event, and every room's whole calendar, can be subscribed to from the calendar app you already have open. It shows up next to your dentist appointment. You do not have to come back to a website to be reminded that a thing is happening.

If you host, you can share the hosting. An event with two names on it survives one of them having a bad week.

Points

The turning up counts now

Answer someone's question. Leave a comment worth reading. Get credited for helping on a flare. Move your ship to its next stage. All of it earns points — and points can lift a ship into the Featured rail, an event, a room, or a thread that's already buzzing.

Two things worth saying loud and clear: you can't buy points, not for any price. And every lift is capped the same for everyone — nobody buys a bigger spot than you.

One more thing: they wait a few hours before they land, and if you pull the back that earned them in that window, the points go with it.

What's next

Where this goes

  1. Now

Rooms, events and points — all live right now. Founding builders are already in the first room, with more joining as invites land, and points lift more than just a ship: an event, a room, a busy thread too.

  2. Next

September 19. Doors open to everyone — no invite, no waitlist. We'll have more to say the day it happens.

If you want one

Tell us what the room is for

Not a pitch. One line about who would be in it and what they would talk about is enough to start the conversation.

The doors are open

Put something in the water.

Havor is open. Post the real thing you're building, at any stage, and get seen for the whole journey by the crew who back it.
