If it reaches 100 backers, you called it.
MochiMoney is a cozy, judgement-free money companion for the everyday financial moments that don’t need a complicated budgeting app. It brings together a friendly calculator, sale checker, bill splitter, savings goals, payday planning and subscription tracking. You can save useful calculations as “Moments,” follow your progress and personalise the experience with comforting themes. It’s designed for people who find traditional finance apps, spreadsheets and money management overwhelming, intimidating or simply too serious. MochiMoney turns small money tasks into clear, manageable steps—helping you understand the numbers, make everyday decisions and work towards your goals without pressure or guilt.
MochiMoney began as a simple calculator. I wanted to make something useful that didn’t feel cold or clinical—just soft colours, marshmallow-like buttons, gentle haptics and a few themes that could completely change its personality. As I built it, I kept thinking about all the everyday money questions that don’t need a complicated budgeting app. What will this cost after the discount? How should we split the bill? How much would I need to save each week? What are all my subscriptions actually costing me? Those questions became MochiMoney: a cosy collection of tools for calculations, sale checking, bill splitting, savings goals, payday planning and subscription tracking. You can save useful results as Moments, follow your progress and personalise the app with comforting themes. It’s made for people who find traditional finance apps, spreadsheets and money management overwhelming, intimidating or simply too serious. MochiMoney doesn’t connect to your bank, require an account or judge how you spend. It helps you understand the numbers and leaves the judgement out of it. Building it wasn’t always cosy. I dealt with calculator edge cases, Swift concurrency warnings, unreliable UI tests, StoreKit subscriptions and an App Store submission process that had changed since many guides were written. During the final checks, I discovered that the Privacy Policy and Terms buttons led to pages that didn’t exist. I fixed them, created a new build and started the submission process again. What finally clicked was realising MochiMoney didn’t need to become an enormous budgeting platform. Its value was in what it didn’t demand. It could simply make the moment between having a money question and making a decision feel calmer. I could have kept polishing it forever, but eventually I stopped asking whether it was finished and asked whether it was useful, honest and ready for its first users. The answer was yes. MochiMoney 1.0 is now waiting for Apple’s review. 🌸

"Without judgement or intimidating spreadsheets" is the whole product in one line, and it's a harder thing to design for than it sounds. Cozy Pom did that for focus, and this looks like the same instinct pointed at finances. Good luck with the review! 🌸
You’ve absolutely nailed what I’m trying to build, thank you! Making something feel gentle without losing its usefulness is definitely harder than it sounds. Cozy Pom and MochiMoney both came from that same instinct. Everyday tools should support you, not make you feel judged. 🌸
