If it reaches 100 backers, you called it.
What does Cozy Pom do? Cozy Pom is a gentle focus timer that helps you break work, studying or everyday tasks into manageable focus sessions with proper breaks in between. It gives you somewhere to set a task, focus on it, track your sessions and reflect on what you’ve accomplished — all wrapped in a calm, cozy experience. Who is it for? It’s for students, creators, developers, people working from home, or really anyone who wants help staying focused but doesn’t get on with traditional productivity apps. Especially people who find streaks, constant reminders and aggressive “YOU’RE FALLING BEHIND” productivity culture more stressful than motivating. What problem does it solve? A lot of productivity apps are designed around doing more. More tasks. Longer streaks. More notifications. More optimisation. Cozy Pom is designed around making it easier to start. You choose something you want to work on, start a focus session, and Cozy Pom gives you a little space to concentrate without constantly demanding something from you. When the session ends, you take a break and come back when you’re ready. The goal isn’t to turn your entire life into a productivity scoreboard. It’s to make getting started feel a little less overwhelming — and getting things done feel a little more cozy. ☕️🌿
I built Cozy Pom because I wanted a focus app that didn’t make productivity feel like another thing I was failing at. So many productivity apps are built around doing more. More streaks, more goals, more notifications, more pressure. Miss a day and suddenly the app you downloaded to help you is making you feel guilty. I wanted the opposite. Something calm. Something I’d actually want to open. A little space where I could choose one thing, focus for a while, take a break and feel good about what I’d done. The problem was… I’d never built an app before. 😂 I was learning Swift and SwiftUI while building the thing I was trying to ship. I broke things constantly. Fixed one bug and somehow created three more. Spent ridiculous amounts of time obsessing over tiny details nobody else would probably notice. And I kept moving the finish line. There was always one more thing I could improve. Eventually something clicked: Cozy Pom didn’t need to be perfect to be useful. It already did the thing I originally wanted it to do. I was using it myself. That was the moment I realised I could either keep polishing it forever where nobody would ever see it, or actually put it in someone else’s hands. So I shipped it. It was terrifying. Apple rejected my first submission, I fixed what needed fixing, submitted again… and Cozy Pom made it onto the App Store. It’s still not perfect. I don’t think anything I build ever will be. But shipping it taught me something I probably wouldn’t have learned from another six months of tweaking: At some point you have to stop building for the imaginary perfect version of your app and let the real version exist. Cozy Pom was my first time doing that. And I’m ridiculously glad I did. 🐶☕️

Congrats on shipping this! A focus app that doesn't make you feel bad for missing a day is a genuinely good angle!
